Gladiators outlast Vikings
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon the short-handed Oslo Vikings fought tough against the Kristiansand Gladiators but ultimately fell 15-6. The Vikings left Oslo with 17 players at 7 AM to travel the 4 plus hours to play the Gladiators whom were opening a brand new stadium.
The game was defensive struggle throughout as both teams created multiple turnovers and caused much confusion for the opposing offenses. The 1st quarter saw no scoring but plenty of action. The Vikings kicked-off and forced the Gladiators to go three and out on some hard hitting. Kristiansand running their traditional smash mouth offense met a defense just as physical. The Viking offense came out in 5 wide which caught the Gladiators off-guard moved the ball down to the 30 but could not convert on 4th down to continue the drive. The rest of the first quarter saw the defenses rise to challenge and dominate the offenses. Defensively the Vikings gave no ground and on offense they had trouble completing passes.
